Introduction:

This US based client approached us with a new Shopify Dropshipping store in the general store niche after trying everything on their own and seeing no real results. We offered a free ad account audit as usual to kick off our partnership and noticed….

❌ Completely off FB ads strategy (optimized for wrong conversion event, no account structure, no clear process to testing & identifying winning audiences/ads)

❌ Poor creatives (low quality video ads & default supplier images used)

❌ A website & landing page which would NEVER convert at a profitable rate

 

Our first priority was improving the overall website & user experience, especially their main product page with better copywriting, images, and trust-building components such as FAQ’s, GIF’s of the product being used, social proof (reviews, user generated content of other customers using the product), and more (our team has extensive ecom experience running & scaling our own brands, so we have a checklist we go through for every client ✅)

Once that was addressed it was time to start driving traffic to their website and start getting those sales rolling in. 

We know from spending millions on the platform that creative quality is easily the biggest needle mover for ecommerce brand especially for you beginners out there. 

There’s a reason why 7 & 8 figure brands are CONSTANTLY split-testing every element of their creatives, constantly finding new angles to market the product from, new audiences/markets to tap into, etc from. It moves the needle and allows them to outperform their competitors even with an inferior product.

The client was suffering low clickthrough rates, high cost per clicks, and low conversion rate from the traffic with his old creatives, so this revamp of their creatives will help alot. People tend to forget that if your creatives look off, people won’t even trust your brand or website at all and your conversion rates will suffer.

So we consulted with the client on creative ideas, hooked the client up with one of our vetted graphic designers we regularly use for client brands, and he pumped out a combination of different image/video ads with different marketing angles ready for us to go. 

 

 Our first campaign was setup as follows:

✅ CBO conversion campaign optimised for Purchases

✅ 5 adsets targeting well researched interests worldwide (audience sizes of around 10-30m)

✅ Included 3 different images/videos with well-written direct response ad copy in each adset

✅ Continued to cycle in audiences/ads once they reached a certain threshold in spend per adset/creative. As we collected more data we were then able to use lookalike audiences of website events, video views & social media engagers.

✅ Eventually we identified winning audience/ad combinations which could be scaled.

 

 Scaling process:

✅ Budget adjustments at midnight of the ad account time zone to reduce accelerated spend & allow Facebook to optimize for the right audiences at the right CPM’s.

✅ Use of automated rules for scaling during aggressive growth phases (allowed us to go from $50 per day initially, to over $2k per day now)

✅ Continuing to cycle in and refresh new audiences/ads to reduce ad fatigue & volatility.

✅ Using a percentage of profits to re-allocate to testing new products to identify new winners to scale (we’ve helped our client to find 3 highly scalable winning products during our first month of working together)

 

 Overall results after 60 days:

It’s safe to say our client is extremely happy working with us as their growth partner and helping them to not only build/scale their business, but do so profitably as well.

 The key lesson here is to get all of your ducks lined in a row before you even think about scaling. Your website, creatives & advertising strategy all need to be in line before you can expect these types of results.
